Martial Art is Meditation – Part 1

In general martial arts, we navigate movement and strikes through strategic points, lines, and planes.

‘Planes’ refers to the use and range of motion of the body.

‘Lines’ refers to the distance and gap with the other person and the trajectory of minimizing and optimizing my movements.

‘Point’ refers to the point where energy should be concentrated or hit.

The goals of existing martial arts based on these points, lines, and plane principles are self-evident.

The goal is to execute precise, efficient actions—minimizing motion while maximizing impact.

This is clearly an approach to subdue the opponent’s body.

So what if that opponent is my mind?

Now we need to take a completely new approach.
