Drying hair is Meditation

Moments such as showering or drying hair with a hairdryer can become opportunities for meditation.

The steady sound of the hairdryer’s airflow is heard through the ears, while the warm air touches the wet hair.

Subtle temperature changes are felt as the scalp dries the hair.

The steam clinging to the mirror gradually dissipates while showering.

The rhythmic sound and the changing temperature and humidity felt through the skin.

In just a few fleeting minutes, simply observing the sensations felt through my body during these moments becomes a meditation experience.

The key is to empty the mind and simply observe the changes in sensation.

Cultivating a meditation habit involves consciously paying attention to these small moments of everyday life, repeated almost unconsciously, over time.
